Llano River Fishing Trip

Mid March several of us made a trip to our property in Hunt to go fishing on the Llano River in home made boats, kayaks, and canoes.
The trip included myself, Bob, Triple, Glenn, Larry, and Will.  We first had to get camp going when we got there on Thursday evening after a HUGE BBQ lunch at Buzzy's in Comfort.
But after some relaxation it was time to eat again!!!
After the dinner, Larry the FCO (Fire Control Officer) took charge of "Brad Pit"
The next day at the put in point in Junction, Glenn proceeds to catch a fish before we even get started...
Now Glenn is on his way
Here is Will in the lead with Larry dragging up the rear
Triple in his new hand built boat
This is a typical rapid on the Llano.  Ok, it is not Category 5 white water rafting...
Here is my new kayak
Me inside a small waterfall
This was great!!!
The boats had to be carried past the rocks
more
More rocks and treacherous waters...
Taking a lunch break after a challenging rapid with a low tree across the path just to make it interesting...
Of course, after each rapid, you had to celebrate your survival...
Glenn showed us all up pretty bad on the fishing part of this excursion
Bob
Triple
Triple & Bob  -  they are never apart for very long...
The scenery was really nice but we sure were getting tired toward the end
Finally - the get out point
Time to head back to our camp and begin the real celebration.  As you can see, the FCO is in charge of dispensing the adult beverages...   Umm, don't ask why Will is sitting in Bob's lap...
Remember that Larry is the FCO.  If you want to touch the fire, one must beg permission to do so
Once permission has been granted, only then may you my proceed to play with the fire
A little guitar music around the fire really caps the evening.  And yes, Bob did play the theme from the movie Deliverance.
You don't want to know   -   REALLY ! ! !
We hope to do it all again soon since this trip was such a blast.
