The Owl Nebula, M-97 or NGC-3587
M-16 the Eagle Nebula.  I've wanted a more close up of this object for a while.
NGC-2264 is the Christmas Tree Cluster or Cone Nebula.  Can you find the "Wolf" in this Hydrogen Alpha image?
NGC-1931 in Auriga has several types of components in it that make it interesting.
IC-5146 otherwise known as the Cocoon Nebula in Cygnus.
NGC-3587 in Ursa Major is also known as the Owl Nebula.
NGC-2392 is the Eskimo Planetary Nebula in Gemini.
NGC-2359 or Thor's Helmet has a rare "Wolf-Rayet" star at it's center.
NGC-7023 known as the Iris Nebula is located in Cepheus.
This is the famous Horsehead Nebula taken with my 14.5" RC from Ft. Davis on January 4th, 2006.
This is the Bubble Nebula - NGC7635 and Open Cluster - M52 in Cassiopeia.  It was taken last October from my place in Cloudcroft New Mexico.  Click on the thumbnail for details.
This is Thor's Helmet, NGC-2359, located in Canis Major.  I shot this before but wanted to shoot it again to see if I could 'squeeze' a little more out of it.
This is M-78, a nebulx near Orion.  Can you see McNeil's Nebula?  Taken on December 10th, 2004 from Ft. Davis with my FCT-150 @ F/5.  LRGB = 120:20:20:20 minutes.
This is the Bubble Nebula - NGC7635 and Open Cluster - M52 in Cassiopeia.  It was taken last October from my place in Cloudcroft New Mexico.  Click on the thumbnail for details.
This is NGC-896, a neat little nebula in Cassiopeia. Taken with the FCT-150 @ F/5 from Ft. Davis on December 8th, 2004. LRGB = 110:40:40:40 minutes with about 50 minutes of Ha blended in.
M-16  -  This is another widefield shot of The Eagle Nebula.  Taken from TSP 2004 in Ft. Davis with the FCT-150 @ F/5.  LRGB = (40:15:15:15) minutes. 5/18/2004
This is the lower portion of the Veil Nebula in Cygnus.   CLICK HERE  for a larger version worth downloading and exploring the detail.  Taken from TSP 2004 in Ft. Davis with the FCT-150 @ F/5.  LRGB = (60:15:15:15) minutes. 5/17/2004
This is a wide field shot of the Horsehead and Flame Nebula in Orion taken with my Sky 90 and ST-10XME from my house on 2/2/04.  It is a combination of 4 - 15 minute shots in H-Alpha.  It constantly amazes me how much "stuff" is around there...
This is M-1 the Crab Nebula.  Shot with the Mewlon 300 @ F/12, SBIG ST-10 & AO-7 at Fort McKavett in October 2003.  Lum = 6 X 600 seconds.  Color taken from a previous shot with the Tak FCT-150.
I already have lots of widefield M-27 Dumbell shots, but I wanted one taken at F/12.  Imaged with the Mewlon 300, SBIG ST-10 & AO-7 on Oct 24, 2003 at Ft. McKavett.  Lum = 6 X 600 seconds.  Color taken from a previous shot with the Tak FCT-150.
I was just playing around and took the color from the image below and put it on top of 30 minutes of Luminance from the Mewlon from my house on 10-18-03 while experimenting with the new AO-7.
Here we have M-76 otherwise known as the Little Dumbell located in Perseus.   Taken on January 3rd 2003 at Ft. Davis with the FCT-150 @ F/7.
Thor's Helmet or NGC 2359 located in Canis Major is a very faint object.  Do you see the helmet and horns?  This is only a RGB since my Luminance shots had problems.   Taken on January 3rd 2003 at Ft. Davis with the FCT-150 @ F/7.
This is a re-shoot of IC-443.  It is found at the foot of Gemini.  I used 2 hours of H Alpha for the luminance and 20 minutes of RGB for the color.  Taken 1/1/03 in Ft. Davis with the FCT-150 @ F/7.
The Flaming Star in Auriga (IC-405).  Taken 12/31/02 in Ft. Davis with the FCT-150 @ F/7.  LRGB = 60:20:20:25 minutes.
This is M-1 and Saturn (and it's moons) as seen on December 30th, 2002 just before Saturn passed directly over M-1.
This is an area in front of the Cone Nebula next to Orion.  Note the deep and dull red of the dust clouds surrounding a pretty blue reflection nebula.  I intended to move over one frame and get the Cone also, but the seeing really died out later that evening and I just turned in.  12/30/02, FCT-150 @ F/7 from Ft. Davis.
M-8 from Fort Davis.  I had a whole week with perfect weather at Ft. Davis on the week of Labor Day.  This is the first of the images that I shot.  I was never happy with the first M-8 that I shot a while back, so I decided to re-shoot it even though it is such a common target.  The image was shot with my FCT-150 @ F/5 (RRGB 85:50:50:50  minutes).    FULL SIZE here.
This is a re-do of good old M-27.  It is just a RGB for now as I am still playing with the Luminance layer.  Shot from Ft. McKavett on October 5th, 2002 with my FCT-150 @ F/7.
This is a piece of the Veil that I have avoided shooting because of the REALLY bright star in it.  NGC 6960, "The Witch's Broom", Supernova Remnant in Cygnus
This is the same as above but with a little H Alpha layer added.  Large Image here.
This a piece of an odd little thing -  IC 1805 in Cassiopeia.
Here is another of those "Hum, isn't that different" kind of objects.  It is NGC 7380 in Cepheus.  Taken at Ft. Davis on September 5th, 2002.
M-17 the Swan.  Taken with the FCT-150 @ F/7 on Sept 1, 2002 in Ft. Davis.
This is the lower part of the North American nebula in Cygnus.  This piece is the "Mexico" part of the nebula otherwise known as the WALL.  That is the "Gulf of Mexico" on the right with Houston represented by the bright star in the upper right :-) .  I just shot it with a red filter to bring out the details.  I used false color to offer it as it would look in color.  I shot it with the FCT-150 @ F/7 for 1 1/2 hours.  Shot in Ft. Davis on Sept 8th 2002.  See my photograph of the NA Nebula for a larger view.
Here is another of those "Hum, isn't that different" kind of objects.  It is NGC 7380 in Cepheus.  Taken at Ft. Davis on September 5th, 2002.
Here we have another odd little critter.  It is NGC 1579 in Cassiopeia.  Taken with the FCT-150 @ F/7 on Sept 4, 2002 in Ft. Davis. It could use a lot more imaging time to increase the S/N ratio.
This is a new shot of the North American & Pelican Nebulas in Cygnus.  This was shot with my 6x7 medium format Pentax for 45 minutes with PPJ film.  Newly scanned from the negative.
M-20 or the Trifid Nebulae in RGB.   I have a LOT of luminance to add for another perspective, but I like all of the different star colors here close to the center of the Milky Way.  Shot at TSP.
Helix-LRGB.jpg (78778 bytes) This is Helix Nebula located in Aquarius.  Taken with my FCT-150 at F/7, (LRGB = 60:30:30:30 minutes) on October 18th from Ft. Davis near the McDonald Observatory.

This is simply a re-processing of my original image below.  It is raining and I wanted to play with some images.  I have stretched this version a lot more than I did my original version.  Click Here for a larger version.
