On September 23rd, 2007, I took Bob
Taylor, Triple Nickel, Glenn Schaeffer, Larry Starnes with a secret friend
in the front of his canoe into the Old & Lost River. |
 |
I used to run my Air Boat all in this
area but have not been back in here in years. It is near the Trinity
River just East of Baytown. |
 |
It hasn't changed. It is just as
pretty as ever. |
 |
What better way to spend a Sunday than on
the water with good friends in a beautiful place that not many people can
get to or even know about. |

 |
I love my kayak ! ! ! |
 |
Fishing is amongst the Cypress Trees |
 |
The roots of the Cypress Trees poke out
of the water for a breath of fresh air.... |
 |
Some of the cuts & guts along Square
Lake. |

Bob through the Cypress knots. |

 |
Time for lunch. Notice the 'desert'
that Glenn is holding. |
 |
We are on a beach of white sea shells in
the middle of a fresh water swamp - go figure... |
 |
There were purple flowers in the floating
water hyacinths everywhere. |
 |
Paddling through the Cypress Trees was my
favorite. |

Of course, so people cheat big time and
get towed by Larry and his 4 HP outboard on his canoe. Larry's secret
friend is a large bag of cement in the front of his canoe to hold it down in
front... |
