Our campers are on the back side of our
property above a creek that flows from a lake in the park. Broadway
leads from the campers to the cliff wall that had a lot of potential for a
sitting area. We used to fight our way through the cedar to one
particular rock on the cliff that we called 'sitting rock'.
We decided to clean this area up and make it a common
area to enjoy. It took many weeks of work to do.
After clearing most of the brushy cedar,
we had to do landscaping and rock work.
This is the back side of the Promenade.
Now we have park benches with tables so
we can enjoy the view over the cliff and down the creek.
This is looking back toward the campers.
Notice the table made by leaving a cedar stump and putting a large flat rock
on it. Just beyond the table is a stone fire pit named 'Angelina' -
remember that 'Brad' is up by the campers...
As always, lot of rock stacking was
required.
Many rest breaks are required.
Even Missy was worn out watching us.
We transplanted some grass clumps from the
creek bed below.
They really look nice here.
More resting is required.
Bob & Karen Taylor - great friends and
neighbors.
Dolly & I
These sprung up from some Yucca plants by
the park benches.
A view over the cliff to the large rock
area below the Promenade.
