How to make a Trail from scratch

We like to make trails through our property to be able to enjoy more of it.  They allow you to access very beautiful features that would otherwise not be seen and enjoyed.  We try to disturb the surrounding area as little as possible.  The trails themselves will curve and meander around so you won't see too far ahead and spoil the surprises waiting around each turn.

We use either rocks to line the trails or Cedar poles cut during the process.  The trail is lined with chipped up Cedar mulch.  The mulch is very good for the soil as it balances the PH and allows grass and other vegetation to take hold and flourish.

This is a sitting area near the campers.  Notice the rock bird feeder in back, the stumps for your wine glasses, and how the rock sets it off.
This is another trail that ends at a water fall in a gully that we are improving.  We will typically pick up the dead wood and either burn it or chip it for mulch.
Planning is a must for the trails.  You want them to go by the neat features of the land.  We always try to take in the large Oak trees when we can.
Then the work begins.
We will rough out the trail then come back and line it with rocks and mulch it.
We may place park benches along the way as 'rest stops'.

Choices are a must
The trails are a pleasure to share with friends.
Even Steve will go and check out a new trail.
Triple, Bob, & I did this trail in just one day.
