Thor's Helmet Nebula


   
About this Object:
This is a nebula with a rare "Wolf-Rayet" star at it's center.  Those stars are very energetic and tend to form bubbles of gas around them.  Another example is the Bubble Nebula.  Thor's Helmet is located in Canis Major between Sirius and M-46 / 47.  CLICK HERE for a wide field version of this nebula.

Comments:  
I shot nebula this particular night because the seeing was so bad.  That is why the stars are so huge and odd colored.
